Hong Teng
(Caulis sargentodoxae)
Hong Teng is the vine stem of the Sargentodoxa vine that originates in East China. The stalks, which are sliced up and dried, have a spicy aroma and a bitter taste. In Chinese naturopathy Hong Teng, with its cooling and detoxifying properties, is used for a number of different purposes. It promotes blood circulation and eases rheumatic pains. Hong Teng, being a mild painkiller, can also be very helpful in fighting headaches or period pains.
