Mu Gua (Fructus chaenomelis) Mu Gua – the Chinese quince fruit - is harvested in the summer and autumn. The fruit is halved and soaked in hot water before being dried in the sun and cut into slices. In Chinese natural medicine Mu Gua has a number of different uses. It promotes the flow of Qi (=vital energy) in the meridians of the liver and spleen, has a positive effect on blood circulation, and relaxes muscles and tendons.
