Zhi Ke (Hovenia dulcis)
Zhi Ke – or the Japanese raisin tree - can reach a height of up to 15m. As its name suggests, Zhi Ke originates in Japan, but is also cultivated today in China and Korea. It is the fruit of the tree that is used, which is harvested in late summer, dried in the sun and cut up into pieces or ground into powder. According to Chinese naturopathy, Zhi Ke has a positive effect on respiratory tract circulation, promotes the blood circulation and eases stomach indigestion.
