Zhi Zi (Gardenia florida)
Zhi Zi is an evergreen shrub with white, aromatic flowers and orange-red fruit. It is native to the south-east provinces of China. Chinese herbal medicine has been using Zhi Zi for more than two thousand years for cystitis, headaches and breathing difficulties. The fruit's essential oil is, among other things, used for the scenting of teas as well as for the production of perfumes.
